People subscribed to Rss feeds can download and listen to your files on their personal audio or video players such as mobile or personal computer. Famous Podcast services are iTunes and CastPodder.

Videoblogging and Podcasting is the next big thing at the moment and hold great potential to be money-spinner in the near future.

Wordpress users can install the software and instantly start podcasting. All you need to do is link your favorite audio or video file in your post and wordpress will automatically add this to your Rss feeds more specifically Rss 2 enclosure feeds, available for subscribers.
There are many plugins available as well if you are not satisfied with the default feature, such as WP-iPodCatter to create valid feeds for iTunes podcast directory or SmartCastTM from Feedburner.com.

Steps to create your own prodcast included the following.

1) Create a music of your choice with various softwares such as wavepad for Windos or Audacity for Mac OS X.

2) Upload your music file (mp3 most often) on your server.

3) Create a post and add the link to your music file (URL).

4) Hit the Publish button and pray to god everything goes fine! This is called Podcasting.

5) Promote your blog and Rss feeds

If you are a regular podcaster, you can very well create a new category through your admin specifically for podcast so that every time you add a new post, you can assign it to this category. This way all your posts will be under a single category and it wil be easy to promote this category’s Rss feed. You can use a blog as an add-on to your regular website, or use it by itself. Either way, a blog allows you to share content, like reviews, articles, or short musings on a particular topic with your readers.

To create a blog, you will need some sort of blogging software as well as a hosting account. You have several options when it comes to both. The blogging software is usually free, and you have a choice of free hosting, or paid hosting it on your own domain.

The two big players when it comes to blogging software are blogger and wordpress. The main difference between the two is that the blogger hosts its software on its own server, and wordpress, is free software that you install on your hosting account. Once wordpress is installed, it is just as easy to use as blogger’s software.

Wile a wordpress blog is always hosted on your own account, you can host your blog free on blogger, or you can host it on your own hosting account and under your own domain.
Once you blog is set up, you will be able to start posting content. Using a blog is very similar to using email or a message board. You enter a title for your post and then type in your message. While you can’t use regular search engine optimization strategies, you can use your main keyword for the topic you are writing about in your title as well as in the beginning of your message or post. This will help search engine determine what your blog and this particular post are about.

Blogs also tend to be indexed fairly quickly by search engines, which means you will get actively searching visitors to your blog rather quickly as well. Blogs make another great tool in any affiliate marketers toolbox, since you can very easy and very quickly add more content.
To monetize your blog, you can work product recommendations into your post, for example, if you are an affiliate for an ebook on how to get your baby to sleep through the night, you could write a review about the ebook and post it on your blog, or you could write a short article about how new parents can cope with the lack of good night sleep until baby sleeps through the night and then mention the ebook as a resource at the end of your article.

Add links to some of your favorite affiliate products to the side bar of your blog, so they appear no matter what particular post the visitor is reading.

You can also add pay per click ads like Google Adsense either on the sidebar or in the individual blog posts. Here’s a tip if you are using google adsense in the body of your post. Make sure your posts are not too short and you stick to one particular topic per post. This will allow google to display ads that are related to your post topics and will hopefully be of interest to your readers and make them click.

For more information about business go to http://www.mommysplace.net and for more information about affiliate marketing go to http://www.nellnews.com. But if have since found a number of exciting side benefits that are coming about as a result of writing my blog.

First, I have made a number of great new contacts with other people doing business online. I have posted comments on other blogs and some people have posted to my blog. Not only has this generated a lot of idea sharing, it is opening a whole new world of networking in addition to making contacts in the offline world.

The written material I have produced is now taking on new forms. I have submitted several of the ideas I wrote about on my blog to offline publications as magazine articles. The blog writing has become an idea generator for me that produces ideas that can morph into other types of material.

My blog posts also become online articles. Often I will make a few changes and then submit these same articles to article submission sites like Ezinearticles. These online articles all have my links, which point back to my site. Then the next stage occurs and other webmasters or ezine publishers use my articles to post as content for their own sites. And all of these have links pointing back to my site. This is the viral effect of publishing articles online.

My body of work is taking shape to become a book. I have always wanted to write a book, and even though I love to write, tackling a book just overwhelmed me. Now, almost without my noticing it, my blog is becoming the material I need to turn into a publishable, offline book. I fully expect it to be complete within the next 12 months or less.

Back to the morphing effect. After taking a look at what I have written on my blog, I am now reworking it to become several workshops and even speeches. Same material, same ideas, just a different form. (I am now looking for a good seminar sponsor, so I would be very grateful for any emails that could point me in the right direction. See my email address below.)

And of course, my blog is generating business. Between the online articles, the blog and the soon-to-be-published magazine articles, my business plan is all coming together.

I would now be hard pressed to think of any business person, especially someone who must sell their knowledge and expertise, who could not benefit from writing a blog on their field of expertise. Stick to one topic whenever possible.

2. If you have no idea what to blog about, write whatever comes to mind. Then take a step back and look for a general topic that stands out, and make it the focus of your post. Clean up, removing unrelated things and unnecessary clutter as needed, and then continue (or start) writing following the path you’ve created.

3. While you may be writing for an audience, put yourself first when it comes to choosing a post topic. This is your personal journal. In the end, you will be the one most likely to benefit and learn the most from this experience. If you have blogging goals, keep referring to them to stay on track.

4. Write only what you’re comfortable sharing. You can always go to those good old-fashioned diaries or private online journals for those very intimate thoughts and highly personal events that you would rather not tell the world about.

5. Be wary of writing public posts about certain subjects (or people), which may compromise your situation in real life (ie: work, relationships, etc). You never know who’s going to come reading your blog.

6. If you’re going to rant, try to do so without using strong, abusive language. There are much more creative and powerful ways to express emotions such as anger or frustration through the written word. Your readers will feel less alienated and will actually find it easier to make a connection with what you are going through if you refrain from using profanities.

While you're writing

1. Readers have a short attention span. Either keep your posts short and sweet or find ways (see below) to keep your readers engaged.

2. Break up those long paragraphs into short ones! Your readers will be more likely to read through the whole thing.

3. Similarly, try to keep those sentences short. More power lies in brevity.

4. Organize your material so that it has a clear beginning, middle and end. Use subtitles as appropriate. Such clear-cut organization will make your posts easier and faster to read. Once again, keep in mind that most readers can only spend a limited amount of time reading each post.

5. Add appropriate visuals (ie: personal photos, stock images and charts) to bring your ideas alive and engage your readers. A good number of people are visually-oriented and will only look at the photos to find out what the post is about.

6. Aim to use more colorful words to make a stronger connection with your readers. “I’m bubbling with joy” evokes so much more than an everyday statement like “I’m pretty happy.”

7. Find your inner voice by speaking from the heart and being yourself. This voice, through your own writing style, will tell your readers who you are and will help them connect to you more on a more personal level.

After you've written your post

1. If you would like your readers’ input through comments, at the end of your post present them with a question related to the topic at hand, either by asking them to give you advice or to share their personal experiences with you.

2. To keep people coming back for more, give them a hint of what they may expect next time. They’ll be eager to return.

3. Re-read your posts at least five or six times for cohesiveness, grammar, spelling and typing errors.

4. If you’re short on time, at least watch out for spelling and typing errors, and flagrant grammatical no-nos.

Get Paid to Blog

Everyone is complaining about PayPerPost. I'm not. I like the idea. Hell, I think it's a great way for some people (re: people like my sister who have no idea how to generate actual revenue online) to make some money with their websites. Come on, what's wrong with getting paid to blog? It sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Sure, you could use Google AdSense, but guess what? AdSense requires a very high level of traffic to generate anything worth your time; but, with PayPerPost, you don't need a high level of traffic, just a decent PageRank and the ability to deliver advertisers the content they want.
PageRank is easy to get: get link backs from relevant websites and get your website listed in dmoz. Delivering what the advertisers want, however, is a bit more difficult than that, but I've got a few tips that will help you keep the advertisers happy and the money rolling in:
Mind your subject matter. Sure, that "jet turbine" offer looks promising, but if your blog is about jelly making, you should probably steer clear of that offer.

Follow the rules. If an offer requires you to link to a certain site X number of times in your article then DO IT. You will not get paid if you do not follow the requirements of the post. Make sure you pay special attention to the minimum number of words in the article as well as any required phrases, links, and photos.

Be mindful of the tone of your article. Advertisers generally prefer a positive tone in the article you’re going to write about them. The advertising requirements will list a tone that you should follow: either negative, neutral, or positive. Don't write a negative article when the advertiser wants a positive one, or you won't get paid.

Maintain a 1-month archive. If the article is not accessible on your website for a month you will not get paid for the work you've done.

Sure, some bloggers might complain about the service, but those people are living in some fantasy world where every blogger can generate an obscene amount of traffic and get rich with AdSense, but if you want to get paid to blog then PayPerPost just might be your answer.
Jason Pullara has run a successful sole proprietorship in New York City building, repairing, and maintaining workstations and personal computers for local businesses and consumers for 5 years, and currently runs a successful content marketing website at Geekstreak.

How would you like the tricks that only the blogging experts know? Have you ever thought that the blog could make money for you? We would look here in this article, ways and means, to make money blogging. Lets first have a look at what are the prerequisites for a blog needed to make money:

1. Blog needs to be dedicated to a niche market.
2. Updated regularly.
3. Enough back links (Don't worry for it. Directory submission would be enough to begin with)
4. Good blog host or application (blogger, Xanga or typepad recommended), and
5. High quality articles or news items supported with images.

Get the above criteria in place and Hurrah... You are ready to Make Money Blogging. If you would like a detailed step-by-step guide to ALL five steps, then visit http://www.TheBlogChallenge.com ...

Top 5 Ways to Make Money Blogging

Lets now take a look at top 5 ways using which you could make money blogging:

1. Google Adsense

Google Adsense delivers text and image ads to the authorized websites/blogs depending on the content of the website. Small code is required to be pasted at proper locations on a webpage and Google automatically recognizes the page. Google shares the revenue it gets from the advertisers whenever a visitor clicks on these ads.
Google bills advertisers on price per click basis (PPC). Advertisers are required to pay only when any visitor clicks on their ads. They bid against each other for the keywords in order to receive better placement and thus prices for each keyword differ from one another. It is better to choose keywords for your blog which pays high $ per click.

2. Amazon

Amazon Associate program is another important way to make money blogging. The Amazon Associate program gives opportunity to website/blog publishers to promote any product from its inventory by adding a predefined code to their website/blog, which, when clicked by a visitor, takes them to the relevant product page. Once the visitor buys the product, the blog owner will be compensated with a commission.

3. Blogads

You can use Blogads as an effective tool to have a better control over the advertisers in your blogs. You can analyze and compare your profits with any one of your online agencies. Blogads can be simply specified as an advertising service used for the web logs or blogs. From the total money generated by Blogads, it retains 20% of it and the remaining money is paid to you through PayPal or checks.

Alternative Services:

• Crispads is another useful network focused on the blogs. You can put your advertisements in their blogs using Crispads. You can move through their RSS/ATOM feeds that help in generating revenues.
• Tagword – It is similar to Blogads. It makes you select the ads and their price.
Users can place their text-based ads in the site within minutes and the ads will be displayed instantly on the website.

4. Affiliate Programs

Your affiliate programs can help you earn a lot of money for selected products and services. Lot of websites offers you to become affiliate members. These affiliate programs can provide a better reach and an in-depth exposure to the products. The commissions for the sales differ according to the quality of the product, sales and marketing strategy involved. You can gather information related to the commissions by looking into the catalogues of Link Share and Commission junctions.

5. Text Links

Text links has emerged out to be the best form of moneymaking source that you can use instead of cluttering or crowding the page with ads. You don’t have to make these text links prominent within your website. This link can act as an extra value to your site and will also help to promote the rankings of other sites. In most of the cases you will find these text links placed in the bottom of the web pages. The best part of this strategy is that the publishers send and accept links as the market continues to grow.
Matt Bacak, The Powerful Promoter and Entrepreneur Magazine e-Biz radio show host, became a "#1 Best Selling Author" in just a few short hours. Many readers are wanting examples of how REAL people are using The Blog Challenge in different niches. Jay Conners is blogging about obtaining loans, and driving customers to him. This is what he says:

For loan officers and mortgage brokers everywhere, obtaining leads to close more loans is at the top of our list of priorities. For we all know, if we don’t close loans, we don’t eat.

There are many productive ways to obtain leads. Customer referrals, networking groups, marketing campaigns, mortgage lead companies, etc.

But now that we are in the 21st century, a new method of marketing is on the horizon, and it is known as blogging.

Blogs have become more than just sites for gathering the latest news on a particular subject.
A blog can be used to market yourself and your product. In fact, I have been using a blog to market my product for over a year now.

The best part of blogging is, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist or computer genius to have a blog.

Just find a blogging service on the web, pick a name for your blog, as well as a template, than begin posting your information.

What kind of information? You may ask.

Information such as the products and services you have to offer and a short biography of yourself as well as a picture. Once your blog is set up, which takes five minutes by the way, you can begin to refer people to it immediately.

You can also put it on your business card, and under your name and address on the e-mails you send. When talking to a potential customer, end your conversations by encouraging the person your speaking with to visit your blog. Blogs are a new and innovative way to market yourself, your products, and your services. And, its fun, so give it a shot.

Jay Conners has more than fifteen years of experience in the banking and Mortgage Industry, He is the owner of http://www.jconners.com/ a mortgage resource site. You can even turn blogging into a full-time career, or a new business. Getting started as a freelance blogger is simple. All you need to do is create a blog, make a few blog posts (these are your work samples), and then look for blogging gigs.

Create a blog If you don't already have a blog, creating a blog is your first step. You can do this very quickly. Creating a new blog at blogger.com (which is owned by Google) only takes a minute or two. This is your "sample" blog. Think of this blog as your blogging portfolio.
Your blogging topic can be in any subject area that you choose, but give some thought to your potential clients - don't make your blogging topic too personal. If you have expertise in a particular area like finance, technology or health, make this the subject area of your blog.

Write some blog posts Now your blog has been created, it's time to make some blog posts. Your entries are published in reverse chronological order, with the most recent entry first. Your first entry can be a brief statement (no more than 100 words) about the general topic of your blog.
For example, if your blog is about dieting, you could summarize the areas (recipes, weight lost tips, health tips) you intend to cover. Or your first post could be an introduction: tell your readers who you are, and why the topic of the blog concerns you. Or you can skip the idea of an introductory post altogether, and just jump into your topic.

Look for blogging gigs Great - you've created two or more blog entries. Now it's time to look for your first blog-job. Your first step is to write a blog post about your availability to blog. You can make this entry detailed, or extremely brief. If you wish, you can add a link to your online resume or CV.

Where do you find blogging jobs? You'll find that several sites have already been set up to match bloggers with companies that want to hire them. Enter "blog jobs" into a search engine to find your initial leads.

You'll also find companies looking for bloggers at out-sourcing venues like guru.com. However, be aware that on these sites, you're competing against others for gigs - don't be tempted to underbid others. Under-bidding is a bad idea because it's terrible marketing. Once you set your price low, it's hard to lift it. Have an awareness of what blogging is worth, and set your price appropriately. Companies which want bloggers don't want the cheapest option - they want the best they can afford.

So there you have it: everything you need to know to get started as a freelance blogger today. Create a blog, make some entries, get a gig. Good luck with your blogging career. If you're a born blogger, you can turn your freelance blogging into a full-time career.
Good luck, and happy blogging.

Angela Booth is a veteran copywriter and blogger. Days go by, you keep publishing, but no one comments and your traffic stats are barely registering. What do you do?

Like any website you own, you must do some blog promotion to start driving traffic to your site. Here are 16 steps, in no particular order of importance, that you can start doing now to get traffic moving to your blog.

1. Set up a Bloglet subscription form on your blog and invite everyone in your network to subscribe: family, friends, colleagues, clients, associates.

2. Set up a feed on MyYahoo.com so your site gets regularly spidered by the Yahoo search engine (see tutorial on http://www.biztipsblog.com)
http://www.my.yahoo.com

3. Read and comment on other blogs that are in your target niche. Don't write things like "nice blog" or "great post." Write intelligent, useful comments with a link to your blog.

4. Use Ping-0-matic to ping blog directories. Do this every time you publish.
http://www.pingomatic.com

5. Submit your blog to traditional search engines: http://www.submitfire.com

6. Submit your blog to blog directories. The most comprehensive list of directories is on this site:
http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/
Tip: Create a form to track your submissions; this can take several hours when you first start so schedule an hour a day for submitting or hire a VA to do it for you.

7. Add a link to your blog in your email signature file.

8. Put a link to your blog on every page of your website.

9. If you publish a newsletter, make sure you have a link to your blog in every issue.

10. Include a link to your blog as a standard part of all outgoing correspondence such as autoresponder sequences, sales letters, reports, white papers, etc.

11. Print your blog URL on your business cards, brochures and flyers.

12. Make sure you have an RSS feed URL that people can subscribe to. The acronym RSS means Rich Site Summary, or some may consider its meaning as Really Simple Syndication. It is a document type that lists updates of websites or blogs available for syndication. These RSS documents (also known as 'feeds') may be read using aggregators (news readers). RSS feeds may show headlines only or both headlines and summaries.
To learn how news aggregators/RSS readers work, see this site: http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-readers.htm

13. Post often to keep attracting your subscribers to come back and refer you to others in their networks; include links to other blogs, articles and websites in your posts

14. Use Trackback links when you quote or refer to other blog posts. What is TrackBack? Essentially what this does is send a message from one server to another server letting it know you have posted a reference to their post. The beauty is that a link to your blog is now included on their site.

15. Write articles to post around the web in article directories. Include a link to your blog in the author info box (See example in our signature below).

16. Make a commitment to blog everyday. 10 minutes a day can help increase your traffic as new content attracts search engine spiders. Put it on your calendar as a task every day at the same time.

Tip: Use a hit counter to track your visitor stats: how many unique visitors, how many page views, average length of visit. You can get a free hit counter at http://www.sitemeter.com
Denise Wakeman of Next Level Partnership, and Patsi Krakoff of Customized Newsletter Services, have teamed up to create blogging classes and marketing services for independent professionals. You can read and subscribe to their blogs at http://www.biztipsblog.com, http://www.coachezines.com and http://www.bizbooknuggets.com

Technorati Tags:
red cross, challenge, the blog challenge, make money with blogs, blogging for dollars

My Favorite Blogs

I just found three blogs that I know you will like.

1) http://scottsdale.wordpress.com/ - Notice I just put the blog domain here.
2) http://theblogchallenge.blogger.com - The original blog...
3) http://www.filesland.com/ - Download Files Area... The title was Blogging for Dollars. The word is out; blogging for money is the NEW way to make money and advertisers are spending big bucks to prove that.

Despite all the ferment a critical question remains unanswered: Do blog ads work? Sure, readers can click on ads and view an advertiser's website, potentially even making a purchase, but that rarely happens. Intel's Campbell says the industry standard is a click-through rate of less than 1 percent.

But major advertisers aren't just looking for click-throughs; they're looking to get in front of the right audiences. "Blogs are very targeted, so one would project that ROI is very good," says Publicis & Hal Riney's Francis. "But it's still early. What may get ad dollars today may not get them tomorrow."

If you would like to learn how to blog for an extra income stream, visit http://www.TheBlogChallenge.com and you'll be raising money for The Red Cross at the same time.

Technorati Tags:
red cross, challenge, the blog challenge, make money with blogs, blogging for dollars

The Blog Challenge

This is the first day of The Blog Challenge.
